Record a voice note with your microphone

Capture microphone audio in your browser, listen to the recording and save it as a file. The recorder does not upload the captured audio.

How to use it

  1. Start recording and allow microphone access in the browser prompt. Check that the intended microphone is selected in your browser or system settings.
  2. Use pause and resume to leave out breaks, then stop when finished.
  3. Play the result to check volume and clarity, then download it before leaving the page.

What to expect
One audio recording containing the captured passages. The download extension follows the format the browser records; WebM and M4A are among the available possibilities.

Before you start

  • Microphone permission and a compatible browser are required. This records the microphone, not a guaranteed feed of system sound; MP3 export is not a selectable option.
  • Automatic stopping is triggered at 2 hours of active recording or the 256 MiB buffered-data threshold. Available memory and browser behaviour can limit a session earlier. Keep important recordings short and save each completed take.
