Compare time zones for the actual date

Choose two time zones and a date to compare their clocks at the same instant. The entered time belongs to zone A. A positive difference means zone B is ahead of zone A.

How to use it

  1. Choose zone A and zone B from the lists. Use a regional name such as Europe/Paris rather than assuming a fixed offset all year.
  2. Enter the date and local time in zone A, or fill them with the current time in that zone.
  3. Read both local dates as well as the times and UTC offsets. Recheck the input after swapping zones: the entered clock time is then interpreted in the new zone A.

Example

Starting point
Zone A: UTC, 2024-01-01 at 12:00. Zone B: Asia/Tokyo.
What to expect
Zone B is 9 hours ahead: 21:00 on 2024-01-01 in Tokyo. The offsets are +00:00 and +09:00.

Before you start

  • Results use the time-zone data supplied by your browser. Seasonal changes can make the difference vary with the selected date.
  • A skipped local time at a clock change is rejected. If a local time occurs twice, the earlier matching instant is used; there is no control to choose the second occurrence.
