Enter a start and end time to measure the interval. If the end is earlier, the calculator treats it as the following day.

Calculate the time between two clock readings

Enter a start and end time to obtain hours, minutes and seconds, plus totals. The calculator subtracts the start from the end and adds 24 hours when the end time is earlier.

How to use it

  1. Set the start time, including seconds if needed.
  2. Set the end time. An earlier end is interpreted as the following day.
  3. Read the duration and totals. Total minutes counts completed minutes; total seconds preserves the remaining seconds.

Before you start

  • Identical times produce zero, not 24 hours. There are no dates, breaks or extra days, so this tool calculates intervals shorter than one day.
  • Clock readings do not account for time-zone changes or daylight-saving transitions. For example, 1 minute 5 seconds is shown as 1 completed minute and 65 total seconds.
