Find a calendar quarter and its boundaries
Calendar quarters divide the year into four fixed groups: January–March, April–June, July–September and October–December. Select a date to see its quarter, half-year and position within the quarter.
How to use it
- Choose a date; the initial value is today on your device.
- Read Q1–Q4 and the inclusive start and end dates.
- Check the day within the quarter and its total length when comparing progress between quarters.
Example
- Starting point
- 29 February 2024, or 2024-02-29.
- What to expect
- Q1, H1, from 2024-01-01 to 2024-03-31. The date is day 60 of a 91-day quarter.
Before you start
- These are calendar quarters, not an organization's fiscal quarters. A financial year starting in April needs a different mapping.
- Quarter lengths vary with the months and leap years. The first date is day 1; do not assume every quarter has 90 days.
